Alternative v2.1 Firmware Released - 2008.07.24
An alternative release of v2.1 firmware has been made available in the resources section for d2c users experiencing problems with the v2.1 update.
Mistake with new firmware version number - 2008.07.16
The more observant of you may have noticed that the version number of the new firmware has been increased from 2.0 to 2.1. This was mearly a mistake in the original naming of the file. It was supposed to be 2.1 -- no changes have been made to the firmware itself, so there is no reason to re-download or re-flash your chip if you already downloaded '2.0' yesterday. Sorry for the confusion!
d2e compatible version of d2pro on its way to distributors - 2008.07.15
A new version of d2pro (identifiable with the blue 'd2e' sticker) has now been released and shipments are on their way to distributors. d2e drives have already started to appear in the Japanese market, and it is likely that they will be appearing in other parts of the world soon.
Firmware Update Released - Eject Issue Fixed! - 2008.07.15
People who have been experiencing eject issues with their d2pro chips will be pleased to hear that this bug has now been fixed! The official 2.0 update (d2prog required) has been released and is available for download in the resources section along with new config discs. This updates works on all d2pro versions up to with the SPI Flash (upto d2c-2) and will even add d2c-2 compatibility to earlier versions of d2pro!
Utility Disc v1.4 Released - 2008.06.09
A new version of the Utility Disc has been added to the resources section. The included update wil fix the SSBB issue on new d2c-2 chips.
Utility Disc v1.3 Released - 2008.05.29
We have just added the v1.3 Utility disc to the resources section. This disc can be used to configure d2pro and also update the flash to v1.3. If your d2pro is DVD-updatable, you can use this disc. Beta firmware to make d2pro DVD-updatable is also available for download, with an official release scheduled for next week.
d2pro now supports Korean Wiis! - 2008.05.23
We have just added support for the new Korea region Wiis. All d2pro chips with the green "d2c2" label will work with these Wiis. However, Nintendo has removed Gamecube functionality from the Korean Wii so update/config discs wont work on the Korean Wiis. D2pro can still be updated via d2prog of course.

New firmware updates released! - 2008.05.07
Firmware v1.3 for 15/19-wire installs as well as the official release of v1.0 for 9-wire installs has been added to the resources section. Fixes include the eject issue, a media detection bug for 15-wire chips and an update issue for 9-wire chips.
Region Free on 9-wire d2pro - 2008.04.25
A lot of people have written to us with queries related to activating region free on the 9-wire d2pro. This information has now been updated in the installation guide: After installation, simply load an ORIGINAL OWN REGION game disc straight away and region free will then function properly.
9 wire d2pro officially released! - 2008.04.25
We are pleased to announce that the new 9-wire d2pro chip has now been officially released. This chip comes with an integrated SPI Flash and takes only 9 wires (including power) to install. Like it's 15-wire predecessor, this chip is fully updateable (JTAG and SPI Flash) via the d2prog USB programmer which is available separately. Configuration options include separate drivespeed settings for DVD5/DVD9 backups and original discs, region override, and GC audiofix.

A beta of the new 9-wire update has been released. The update requires the SPI Flash and d2prog programmer and may be downloaded from the Resources section. Please read the enclosed instructions and keep in mind that this is a beta, so use it at your own risk!

Update v1.1 Released! - 2008.04.09
Update v1.1 of the d2pro (15 wire) firmware has been released to combat the 'clicking drive' problems that have been previously reported. The update requires the d2prog USB programmer and is available for immediate download in the resources section.
'Clicking drive' problems - 2008.04.08
Several people have experienced problems with 'clicking' drives that cannot read discs properly when d2pro is installed. We are currenty looking into this problem and will post more details soon. Stay tuned!

9-wire firmware update announced - 2008.03.20
We are happy to announce that a firmware upgrade to allow d2pro to be installed using just 9 wires (with the addition of an SPI Flash soldered to the PCB) will be available within 1-2 weeks. As well as the SPI Flash, you will need the new 'd2prog' USB programmer to apply the firmware upgrade. We will post more information as it becomes available.

After an incredibly successful pre-release, we are pleased to announce the full official release of d2pro. Region Free Confirmed! - 2008.01.29
We are pleased to announce that d2pro is now confirmed to be region free with the addition of 4 wires. So, we basically have 3 'modes' now: 19 wires (region free mode, rock solid), 15 wires (standard mode, rock solid), 13 wires (lite mode, a little shaky!).
